Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes! For orders containing 25 items or more of our in-house made products (The Bower Studio brand) we offer a bulk discount of 20% off. We cannot offer bulk discounts on items produced by other artists or brands. At this time you must contact us in order to receive bulk discounts as they cannot be applied to your shopping cart. Bulk orders are invoiced via PayPal and can be paid with Credit, Debit, or a Paypal account.
The item I want is out of stock. When will it be available again?
If an item you're interested in is out of stock, contact us and we will happily notify you when it is back in stock. Certain items, such as our canvas wall hangings, may take up to 3 weeks to restock.
When will my order ship?
Orders ship in 1 to 3 business days.
We do not ship on weekends or US Federal Holidays.
To ensure a timely delivery, please double check that your shipping address is correct. All shipping labels are printed directly from the information you provide us and we cannot be held responsible for an incorrectly provided address.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. All of our items can be shipped internationally.
What shipping method do you use?
All orders are sent via USPS First Class Mail unless otherwise requested. Domestic shipping is 2 to 5 business days. International shipping times will vary and may take up to 2 weeks. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for items lost during shipment. Whenever possible we will supply you with tracking information. Unfortunately, most international orders, per USPS rules, cannot be tracked.
My package hasn’t arrived. What’s going on?
The most common reason for a package not arriving is an incorrectly entered shipping address. When placing your order, please make sure your address has been entered correctly. If your package has not arrived within a week (domestic orders only. Allow 2+ weeks for international order), please contact USPS with your tracking information. If your order does not have a tracking number, please contact us with your order number.

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase or received an item damaged in shipment, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your purchase.
We make every effort to ensure that your purchase arrives safely, but we know that sometimes things get damaged in transit. If you receive a damaged item, please send us a photo of the item along with a description of the damage. We can then issue you a refund or replacement (plus shipping cost).
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, please contact us and you may return unopened, unused items to us within 7 days of receiving your purchase. You will be responsible for return shipping costs of all returned items. Once we receive the return we will issue you a refund for your purchase.
Returns for a full refund are accepted within 7 days with a receipt. Store credit only for returns within 14 days with a receipt. Exchanges may be made within 14 days with a receipt.
What are your compostable plastic sleeves made from?
All of our in-house brand prints and cards are sealed in protective sleeves made from polylactide acid (PLA). PLA is created from the lactic acid in plants and is certified compostable.
Can I compost them in my backyard compost bin?
Unfortunately PLA cannot be composted in backyard compost bins or piles. PLA requires heat to be broken down. Please dispose of all PLA sleeves with your municipal composting program OR by recycling.
What paper are your products printed on?
Our art prints are all printed on 100% recycled post-consumer paper produced with hydro-power. The paper has a fine texture to it which gives each print the appearance of an original piece.
Our plantable greeting cards are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper produced in Canada. The seeds include Bird’s Eye, Clarkia, Black Eyed Susan, Sweet Alyssum, Catchfly and Snapdragon. All seeds are non-GMO and approved for planting in the USA, Europe, Canada, and Australia. (For other locations, please contact us.)
Are the seeds in your cards invasive?
No, although the seed mix contains non-native species, none of them are considered invasive or noxious. While all noxious and invasive species are non-native, not all non-natives are considered noxious or invasive. The species included in our plantable cards do not possess invasive growing habits and pose little threat of uncontrolled spreading. The seeds are approved by both the United States Department of Agriculture and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as suitable for planting in the US, Canada, and other regions. Many garden plants, such as those in our seed cards, are non-natives (including commonly planted vegetables, herbs, and annual flowers like marigolds or petunias), but they are generally considered safe to plant with little risk to the native environment.
How do I plant your seed cards?
To plant the paper, cover it with 1/8" of soil in full to partial sun and keep moist until the seeds establish. For improved germination time, soak that paper for a few minutes before planting. Sprouts should appear within roughly 7 days, depending on conditions. The sprouted paper can then be planted, gently covering with soil. Keep moist while the seedlings establish their roots.
What is the shelf life of your seed cards?
For best results, plant your seed card within 2 years.
Are your prints archival?
Yes! All of our prints and cards are printed with archival chroma-life inks, guaranteed to last at least 100 years. Of course, it is always advised that prints be displayed in a way that protects them from moisture and direct sunlight.
Will you create a custom design for my tattoo, logo, etc.?
Yes, we do custom design work as time allows. For custom artwork and design requests, please contact us for more information, availability, and pricing.
Are your herbs ethically/sustainably sourced?
We source all of our herbs from suppliers that support the ethical and sustainable harvest of herbs, both wild and organically grown. Some are locally grown in Massachusetts. Our international suppliers are also members of United Plant Savers, promoting the ethical wildcrafting of herbs.
Are all of your herbs organic?
Most of them are! Those that aren't are usually sustainably and ethically wildcrafted. Some are also grown organically but are not certified, as they come from small local herb farms that are not yet able to afford organic certification.
Do you still host workshops?
Due to limited space in our current Amherst location, we are no longer able to host workshops. However, we are hosting monthly art shows as part of Amherst Arts Night.
Will you sell my products? I’m an artist/crafts person/maker of handmade products/goods.
Possibly! If you think your products or creations would be a good fit in our shop, please contact us with photos, wholesale pricing, and/or your wholesale linesheet. We’re always happy to look at new items and will contact you if we feel like your products would sell well in our shop. If you are new to selling wholesale, but still want to share your products with us, don’t hesitate to reach out. We are able to discuss potential options if we are interested in carrying your products/goods.
Will you sell my art or products on consignment?
We are no longer selling items on consignment. However, we are willing to discuss options with you if you are not familiar with selling wholesale. Please see the answer to the above question: “Will you sell my products?”
