These greeting cards feature original pen and watercolor drawings of herbs and their code names. Based on the writings of Galen and Discorides as well as the Greek Magical Papyri (see PGM XII: 401-44), this illustration depicts an herb and its code name counterpart. Code names have been used in grimoires to conceal the nature of herbal and magical recipes from the general populace.
Our cards are printed with archival inks on plantable post-consumer paper. Each card comes packaged in a compostable clear sleeve with a kraft envelope.
To plant the paper, cover it with 1/8" of soil in full to partial sun and keep moist until the seeds establish. The seeds include Bird’s Eye, Clarkia, Black Eyed Susan, Sweet Alyssum, English Daisy, Catchfly and Snapdragon.
The inside is left blank for you to write whatever suits the occasion or your mood.
